Ridiculous story from the AP:
La Scala to stage Gore's 'Inconvenient Truth'
First it was the film and the book. Now the next stop for Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" is opera.
La Scala officials say the Italian composer Giorgio Battistelli has been commissioned to produce an opera on the international multiformat hit for the 2011 season at the Milan opera house. The composer is currently artistic director of the Arena in Verona.

Happy Memorial Day!
Pat finally got to meet my grandmother yesterday. Mom grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. I think everyone enjoyed my peach cobbler as well! Unfortunately, Steve had to come alone, since Jennifer caught a cold. Maybe she'll meet Memaw soon. We talked a lot and had a great time just spending time together.
I can't wait for Memaw to come back to visit again!

Please, sir, can I have some more?
My memaw is visiting from Arkansas, so I'm going to my parent's house tomorrow to see her. She wanted to meet Pat, so he's going with me. Pictures to come...
I made my famous peach cobbler this morning for the get-together. I use a stick of butter to make a crunchy crust on top. (It's so good!) I washed out the bowl in the sink and turned away to put the cobbler in the oven. When I turned around, I saw Gracie licking her lips with a pleased look on her face. Apparently, she loves butter. Yes, butter!

Congrats, Jennifer!
My parents, Pat, and I went on Saturday to a graduation party for my friend, Jennifer. She just finished graduate school at the University of North Alabama. We've been friends forever. Since both of us grew up with only brothers, I guess we ended up being sisters by choice. :-)
While we were there, Jennifer's dad showed off his new limited-edition Corvette. He let me drive it. It has been 9 years since I've driven a manual transmission, and I was so nervous!
Such a beautiful car --
We had a great time. Congratulations again, Jennifer!

You Give Love a Bad Name
Last month, Pat and I saw Bon Jovi in concert in Nashville. It was so incredible! We had close seats at the side of the stage.
Neither of us had ever seen a performer smile as much as Jon Bon Jovi. They were all having a great time and put on a really high energy show. We even got to see a few special guests! They first surprised the audience and brought out Big and Rich. One of them was wearing a loud jacket with built-in lights. Jon quipped, "I think I had that jacket...back in 1986." Ha!
The next big surprise was when they brought out LeAnn Rimes. She's so great!
They did all the "classics," and we sang along with all of them. Pat was singing so well that he elicited several looks from the lady next to me! I bet she was jealous of his lovely voice! :-)
They've got to be proud that after all these years that everyone still loves their music. During "Bad Medicine," "You Give Love a Bad Name," and others, Bon Jovi didn't even have to sing. The audience knew every word.
We had an amazing time and would go to a concert at the Sommet Center in Nashville any time.
Here's us rockin' our Bon Jovi tees.
Gas Buddy
With gas prices going even higher, there is a website that lists "lower" gas prices. It doesn't show every gas station in every location, but it's still a nice resource.

Just wait...
Today, John Edwards endorsed Barack Obama for president. I predict that Edwards will become the VP candidate if Obama wins the nomination. Political advisors believe that Edwards will help in the election by courting and gaining the Southern vote. Let's NOT prove them right.

Credit where credit is due
I have to mention that my boyfriend, Pat, came up with the final blog name. You're a creative genius, babe!
Heart of the Matter
You may be wondering why I started a blog and how I came up with its name. I thought blogging could be fun and just about everyone does it. I know I enjoy reading them, so I hope mine won't be too boring!
"Bluebonnets" is part of the title, because it's my favorite flower. I was born in Dallas, Texas, and I've always felt a kinship with the state. Even though I don't live there anymore, I have fond memories from my childhood. "Bouncy balls" are the favorite toys of my two cats, George and Gracie. I know you'll hear many more stories about them in the future. George is very mischevious, and Gracie is the perfect little lady. They act unlike any pets I've ever had.
So, there's the background story. I hope you enjoy reading this blog in the future!
