The Final Countdown

I have been so busy lately! I feel so tense knowing that all the wedding plans have to come together in 12 days. Up until now, I have felt excited. I still do; I just have a lot to think about. I have made lists (very me) to help.

Today I have my final dress fitting!! :-)

Here's a funny pic of George to lighten the mood:

I am going to fit on top of this!!

It's Spring!!

The tulips in my yard are growing. It's so nice to see them after such a cold winter!

"PC Load Letter"?!?! What does that mean??

With my new position at work, I had to move buildings and cubes. It's been about a month or so, since I changed buildings but still had not moved the stuff from my old cube. Yesterday, I finally found time to pack up my old cube.

I went there expecting all my stuff to be gone or messed with. For some reason, other employees will see an empty cube and "poach" your stuff. If you have a better mouse than them, they take it. If you have a better monitor, they take it. It's really sad. Luckily, the only casualty was my tape dispenser. Yep, someone stole my tape dispenser...

When I told Mom about the move, she compared it to "Office Space." I already knew how shockingly accurate that movie was, but people stealing stuff from your cube is right out of the movie. Remember Milton and his Swingline stapler? How depressing that my office is really like that...

George and Gracie's Sleepover

I needed to have George and Gracie out of the house for the open house. I found out that most vets are closed on Sunday. My vet is only open from 4 to 6pm that day, and my open house was from 2 to 4pm! Argh!!

I looked into every possible option and ended up boarding them on Saturday night. I told them they were going to have a sleepover. (Some friends of ours always tell their dog that he is "going to camp.") Somehow, that didn't comfort them. :-)

They really hate going to the vet, even though my vet is awesome. I helped take them to their cage. Gracie had her back to me and wouldn't look at me, while George was busy hissing at the vet assistant! How pitiful!

I felt guilty putting them through that, but what else could I do? Needless to say, they were happy when we got home. They don't realize that they will soon have a new daddy and brother. They don't know how good they have it now!

Open House

My open house was a success this weekend! My realtor showed it to 2 buyers and another agent. I cleaned the house on Saturday and to make it look its best. The yard needed to be mowed, but I've been sick for the past week and it has been raining since Friday. Oh well! I hope people can look past that!

I have only had one other showing, but that person made an offer! I need traffic in my house, because if you see it you will love it.

I'm really excited with how it went! The wedding is only 4 weeks away, so time is quickly passing. At this point, I would probably be closing after the wedding. I need some offers!

P.S. I am feeling much better. I am so glad that I went to the doctor and didn't just hope that it went away on its own!

The Verdict

I went to an ENT this morning to find out why I am sick. He treated me for a sinus infection. I had one last year, and it took me six months to get over it. With the wedding only four weeks away, I wanted to make sure it did not turn into something worse. A sniffling bride is no good!

They also gave me a steroid shot that hurt! Whew - that one was rough. Pat said that I am Roger Clemens to his Mindy McCready... :-)

Corie the Red-Nosed Banker

Somehow, I contracted the "crud" over the weekend. I felt it coming on Saturday morning. I still felt bad at the couples shower, but it wasn't at its worst yet. It has gotten progressively worse since the weekend. I am on severe cold medicine and took a generic Claritin this morning. Neither seem to be a match for this stuff.

I have been getting up to blow my nose overnight and haven't been getting much sleep. It's amazing how critical breathing is to sleep (and living). :-) I'm not sure what a doctor can do, but they may get a visit from me before the week is over. I don't get sick often (knock wood), but it usually hits when I'm stressed. Hmm, maybe planning a wedding and being made to start from scratch at work is to blame...

I blame work and Spaniards...more specifically, Spaniard bankers...maybe I'm allergic to mind-numbing Excel spreadsheets and Spaniard bankers...

Do they have a pill for that?

Bridal Showers

I had my hometown bridal shower on March 7. It was nice to see some people I knew growing up. Pat's family got to come, too! My "other" moms hosted it and really went above and beyond. The meeting room was beautifully decorated. Dad got to be the only man there. (He was our photographer.) Everyone was so kind and gave Pat and me wonderful gifts.

This past Saturday was the couples shower. (Men were included!) Five couples hosted it. They were Pat's family friends who have known him forever. It was fun, because we got to be with all our family and friends. We ate, opened presents, and had an great time!

Pudding Cup, How I Love Thee

Should I feel silly eating a pudding cup? Somehow, I feel self-conscious eating one. Are they really only for children?

I've been trying to eat better, since I will be wearing a wedding dress in a month. At 90 calories, they have been so helpful. I have the worst sweet tooth, and it helps to eat something sweet, creamy, and chocolate.

Eating one takes me back to the school cafeteria and stirrup pants. (You know you wore them...) I say, "What's so bad about feeling like a kid again?"

Where Am I?

Yesterday brought snow to Alabama. When I woke up and looked outside, everything was covered in snow. It was so pretty!

This is awesome!

George and Gracie loved the snow yesterday! They didn't want to miss a minute...
